Today is the launch of my new blog. I’m so excited!
First, I’d like to let everyone know about my debut book of poetry, After the Fire Comes the Rain, that is available on Amazon. It’s a short book of poetry, about 60 pages. I hope it will help anyone who is going through mental health disorders to feel less alone, or anyone who may have a loved one with mental health disorders understand what it’s like to live day to day with these disorders or be in a mental health crisis.

We all know that there’s still stigma around mental health disorders. I was diagnosed about twenty years ago but have had this disease for much longer. Since my diagnosis, there have been times when I felt like I could talk about my mental health without too much negativity towards me, but now I feel like we’ve gone back to a time where stigma is at a much greater height. I tend to not tell people about my mental health anymore. So, this book and this blog are like me pulling the curtain back and showing everyone a piece of myself that I don’t normally show to the world. I guess I’ll see how the world reacts to this.
I will talk more about my diagnosis and life in future posts. If you want to read a bit about me, you can go to the About Me page and read a little bit before I get into longer posts.
Until next time, know that you’re not alone.
Michele
